Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Review!

20140608_195059 copy20140608_195115 copy20140608_195141 copy20140608_195243 copy I recently had little lippie haul and two of the item I got were the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains! I got 2 shades that I thought I would wear most, Milan Moment (coral) and London Posh (pink nude). The formula of these really remind me of the L’Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Lip Colours. They are really rich, balmy, glossy and hydrating. I found that the color does slightly stain the lips, I’m sure with the darker shades it is even more apparent. I think these are the best formulation of these type of lip product so far, really impressed!

How Not To Look Sick!

gdsgds

I have been sick the past few days and have definitely not been enjoying myself! Fortunately, I found some quick and effective ways not to look like I’m a slobbering mess. I found that a great dewy foundation and a good coverage concealer will do wonders. Applying a nice layer of moisturizer and eye cream will be even better. To bring some life  back into my skin, a pink blush with a bit of a sheen and some bronzer really made me look alive. Lastly a trusty lip balm and a moisturizing tinted gloss were also saviors. What are some of your go to staples when you’re sick?

NEW at the Drugstore! Wet N’ Wild Mini Haul & Review!

6

Woo hoo! I was at the drugstore and saw these little beauties, most of the other lip items had been picked through but I managed to snag one! I’ve really enjoyed things from Wet N’ Wild, so I decided to give these a go. 🙂

1

This is the new Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in ‘The Naked Truth’ for $3.99. I really liked this because it seemed like a great everyday palette, and the shades are right up my alley. These are smaller than the original 8 color palettes that they already have, but these are nice, and more portable for your makeup bag. There was also a $1.00 off coupon on this so already a great deal for the price!

3

Here are the swatches! Overall, I really like this palette, the only shades that was a little hit and miss were the browbone and crease shade, due to the shimmer that was in them. On the lids however, they look lovely, and are great for layering over other matte shades.

5

This is the Wet N’ Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain in Rico Mauve $2.69. I REALLY like this. These also came with a $1.00 of sticker, so this was dirt cheap. This type of lip product seems to be all the rage these days  so I was happy to see that they came out with something similar for a great price.

2

The shade looked like a very natural color that I would wear on a daily basis so I was happy to give it a go!

4

Here is the swatch, very pretty natural pink-mauve shade! They are very moisturizing, slightly glossy, and have NO scent! Hallelujah! I hate the ones that smell like mint. Blech.

Let me know if you guys have tried these! XO

Life Savers! NEW! Loreal Advanced Haircare Hair Masks (Damage Erasing Balm & Moisture Rush Mask)

2

Hi gals! I really needed to do this post because I have been obsessed with the new Loreal Advanced Haircare Hair Masks. These launched a couple months ago, retail for around $6, and I’ve been testing them out since I’ve gotten them. They come in these awesome tubs, which I actually like because it makes it feel more like a hair treatment. The tubs do get a little slippery in the shower since you are using your hands to scoop the product out, but a quick rinse will get them back to normal.

5

The first one is the Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm. It says it repairs up to 1 year of damage in just 1 use! QUITE the claim! I remember the first time I used this that my hair immediately drank this up and left my hair feeling smooth, silky soft and nourished. I have semi thick color treated damaged Asian hair, so taming it can be quite the ritual. For the price, this is a definite MUST-HAVE hair mask if you are looking to smooth and tame your hair and get it back to a healthier state.

1

The Balm contains Ceramide, which helps hold cuticles together and prevents breakage. The texture is quite creamy and thick, and does have a balm-like quality, but really feels nice and luxurious. I scoop a small handful out into my palm and run the product through my hair concentrating it where the damage it (ends). I leave it in for a few minutes then rinse! My hair feels so awesome after this, I highly recommend anyone trying this that has damaged hair, split ends, color-treated, or rough/dull hair.

4

The next one is the Power Moisture Moisture Rush Mask with Hyaluronic Acid. I use a hyaluronic acid serum for my face, and it help to keep my skin moisturized. This mask is for dry, dehydrated hair and is supposed to give you up to 10x more moisture. Another very high claim! I really liked the color of this, and was excited to see what this would do!

3

This one is much more watery and gelly-like. I love the smell of these masks, very fresh and clean smelling, slightly aquatic! Hyaluronic Acid in the next product helps to attract and retain moisture. I use this after I shampoo and leave it in for a few minutes then rinse. This is I found to be AMAZING for overall shine. My hair does feel more smooth, but the Damage Erase Balm is much better at deep conditioning my hair. This one is better for touch ups, and overall quick touch up maintenance.

Overall, I LOVE these masks, high recommend!

MyGlam/Ipsy October 2012 Bag!

Hello everyone! I finally got my October MyGlam/Ipsy bag, as some of you might know MyGlam has changes their name to Ipsy, with the promise of more customization, and better prodcuts. I gave in and decided to give this month a try after canceling, and I’m kind of glad I did! The bag itself is SO cute!!!!!!! 🙂

This month’s theme was Bombshell, and you get products to create yourself into one! Here is the card you typically get with some info on the products and brands. Excited about these!! They seems like great products. I’ve heard of The Balm and Coastal Scents, but haven’t tried anything from the other two.

Here is what was inside, yay goodies!! I love surprises, have the reason why I love the subscription services. All these products look like a generous/full-size!! I absutely love the bag, I’m currently using it as my everyday makeup bag!

Here are all the contents!! WOW, I am so impressed with this. After being dissapointed many times with previous Glam Bags, this makes up for it completely, and I hope they keep it up!! 😀

The first thing I saw was The Balm, What’s Your Type? Black Mascara sample.  I’ve never tried any Balm mascaras, or anything besides their eyeshadows for that matter, so I was happy to see this. It’s a pretty good size, great for travel, and the formula was pretty decent! The wand itself was good for volumizing and slight separation, but it was out of plasic material, which hurt my eyes! (I like soft dense bristles!!) Overall, I do still like this and will use it up!

Next was a FULL-SIZE Be a Bombshell Felt-Tip Eye Marker/Liner in Onyx. Very little to say about this other than this was an amazing product. It goes on opaque, dries fairly quickly, and lasts a long time. You get great precision from the felt tip, and it great for a perfect winged eye look! So happy that was in here, it retails for $14, will DEFINITELY get use out of this!!

This is the Couture Colot Pequi Oil Treatment. It’s a pretty nice sample size, and it meant to make your hair softer and more manageable. I did a little research and I guess a Pequi is an Amazonian fruit, this is mae without parabens and sulfates, and is claimed to improve dull, damaged hair is up to 600% stronger after one application! This retails for $12, so it’s a great value! It smells lightly of soemthing tropical, maybe a bit coconutty, and it does make my hair feel super soft! It’s also incredibly lightweight and absorbs quickly, love it!

Next is this Coastal Scents sample eyeshadow quad in Set 7. It’s pretty small, but I guess they are the same size as the shadows in those 88 palettes, each pot about the size of a dime. I’m very familiar with Coastal Scents as they sell a variety of affordable makeup through their website. You can create custom palettes, or buy them individually. Personally I prefer BH Cosmetics as I think their eyeshadows are much better quality, but these are great if you are looking for a deal.

The names of the eyeshadows are on the back so you can reference them if you are interested in getting the full size pans. Ipsy offers a Beauty quiz when you sign up and they say they personaize your Glam Bags based on that, I wonder what other people got?? Not a real fan of these shades. :/

Last but not least is the full size Mirenesse Lip Bomb in 4. This is such a unique product, it’s a highly pigmented glossy laquer stain. The packaging is very neat, and I love the shape! This retails for $35!! Amazing! The texture and finish remind me of the OCC Lip Tars, but much glossier. I applied a little mount and got SO much color, you really need to be careful with this, it does stain the skin!

Swtches: Mirenesse Lip Bomb 4, Be a Bombshell Felt Eye Marker in Onyx, Coastal Scents Eyesahdows in Lemon Chiffon, Antique Lilac, Wisteria, and Raspberry Tart.

Going Natural & Organic for Summer!

Hey everyone!! This summer has been really hot this year, and I’ve been hitting the pool multiple times a week!! As great as it is for relaxation and fun, my hair and skin have been needing some extra help!! 🙂 Here are the few items that I’ve picked up these past couple months that have really been helping me out!

This is the Cocoacare 100% Cocoa Butter Yellow Stick! I got this on Dermstore’s website as an extra purchase! It had such great reviews so I didn’t hesitate to try it. It’s a multi-use product that is purely cocoa butter. (be careful cause it melts in high heat!!) I’ve really enjoyed this on the dry feet and cuticles. It also help moisturize burns and protect your skin! Love it!

Next is a Vitamin E Lip Balm, it’s shaped like a lipstick so it’s very easy to apply. This is also another multi-use product, but I prefer to use this on my lips and face. It’s VERY cheap, I think in the dollar range, and got this at my local drug/grocery store! Just check the vitamin/health isles and you should be able to find this! It makes my lips feel incredibly smooth and moisturized. Love it as part of my regular regimen!

This is the Bergamot Essential Oil from The Body Shop, it’s a small little bottle, but I found this little in the $1 sale bin! It smells heavenly, like fresh tangerines! It instantly wakes me up, and rejuvenates my senses. I LOVE essential oils because they are so versatile, you can add it to your bath, beauty products, facials, or even your pillow! I highly recommend getting essential oils to add your your collections, they are so much fun!

This is the Shikai Color Reflect Mist & Go Conditioner. It’s supposed to detangle, add shine, and add a mid-day lift. This has been great when I’m on the run during the day in the hot sun. My hair has been thanking me for it!!! After all the damage from color treating, chlorine, and sun, this helps my hair tamed and soft. It’s all natural/organic which I like and it smells really nice! It’s also a generous size and it was only around $11 which is pretty good for an organic product!!

Next is this Natralia Heel Balm from Australia, I found this in the organic isles of my local grocery store, and decided to give it a try. My feet get EXTREMELY dry and chapped from wearing sandles all the time during the summer months. This is a very thick emollient formula, and smells a bit like Eucalyptus. It instantly drinks into my skin, and makes even the hardest callous moisturized. I apply this after I shower or when I come back from the pool, great foot saver!!

Lastly is a food item, I’ve really been trying to eat healthy and invest in organic foods. When I do snack, I try to choose healthier options that will help out my body, instead of weighing it down. This is the Sunsweet Plum Amazins Diced Plums. I really liked the packaging, and the little tiny diced plums!! I like eating this plain by the handfuls, and really gives me my daily dose of fiber, great for digestion! 🙂

What do you do for summer?!

Recent ELF Haul Close Up! XO

Hi everyone! Just wanted to do a little in depth review of some of the items that I got in my recent ELF haul for Mother’s Day, I really liked everything that I purchased, have been loving trying all the new products! The nail polishes above I plan on doing an ombe nail tutorial, but I just wanted to show the colors, so bright and summery, love it so!! 🙂

Next, I wanted to do a review on the ELF lip Conditioning Balms, they have an SPF of 15 which is nice, and they have the most amazing texture and pigmentation. This is nothing new to me, but wanted to put it out into the world because I LOVE them so much!!! They are $3 each, and come in various different shades, they are quite hefty in terms of packaging, bit I usually just leave them on my bathroom vanity so I don’t have a problem with storage really, although they are quite large!

Here are the two shades I got, Romantic Rouge and Nice & Natural. I already had Nice & Natural, but really wanted to try the red color. As you can see, the packaging is big for a lip product!!!

They all come with a protective lid which is nice so it doesn’t try out, although I’ve had my first Lip Conditioner for over 6 months without the lid and it hasn’t dried out yet! They smell amazing, like vanilla cupcakes, and I love using this with small lip brush to apply!

Here are the two colors up close, SO pretty!!! The Nice & Natural is a great nude color, I think this would look great on any skin tone. Great alternative to a nude lipstick or lip balm. This has a little more pigmentation than a tinted lip balm, and feel very thick and glossy without being sticky.

Here are the swatches! : ELF Conditioning Lip Balm in Romantic Rouge, Nice & Natural, and ELF Mineral Lipstick in Party Pink

Wearing Romantic Rouge, love it!

Current Favorites and Drugstore Haul!!

Hey everyone!! This are all my current favorites that I use on a daily basis, and also some new items that I got recently that I have been LOVING! As you all know, the summer months are approaching, and as I get more sun, my needs for my skin are changing! Here are all the items that I use to get that perfect natural summer look!

This is the Neutogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation in Fresh Beige, I picked this up because I have been curious about this foudnation for a while now, and seemed like a great opportunity to try it since I am getting a little tanner!! All my other foundations are a shade or two lighter than my skin tone in the summer, so this shade seemed perfect for me! Love that it is SPF 20!

Here’s the color Fresh beige on the top of the bottle! 🙂 The packaging a quite sturdy, made of glass and metal. The bottle itself is a bit chunky and heavy so I wouldn’t really recommend carrying it around in a makeup bag. The only downside I would say is that it has no pump!! I have to carefully droop some product onto my hand on directly on my brush.

Here is the color on my skin! Initially it looks quite dark, but blended out it looks amazing and matches perfectly. The texture of this foundation is very light and liquidy, and seemed to have some light skin care properties.

Here’s the product blended out onto my skin a bit, you can really see the color of this foundation and I noticed that it had very faint pleasant fresh cosmetic smell.

Here it is completely blended out, you can hardly notice it!!!! It makes my skin feel very soft and supple, and the coverage is very natural. I really love using this foundation on my face because I don’t feel like it’s caked on and heavy, especially during the summer months. My skin feels fresh and naturally dewy!!

This is a little sample of the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream I got in my latest Birchbox. It really is a tiny sample, but I am getting a bit of use out of it, just to try. I really like the packaging, very modern and clean, and I’ve heard SO much about Dr. Jart Bb Creams in the past, I was so excited to finally give it a try!

Here is what the color of the BB Cream looks like. As with most BB Creams, it is a bit light. When blended, the BB Cream should dissipate into the skin and match better. There is a strong SPF smell to this BB Cream as it does have SPF 25, so if you are put off by that, I recommend you try a different version!

Here it is blended out a bit, the BB Cream is very light and moisturizing, it almost disappears immediately onto the skin. I really like BB Creams because of all the great functions they have, and the fact that it is makeup and skincare in one!!

Here it is completely blended out. Gone!! I will probably use this sparingly on certain areas where I need a bit more coverage, (under my eyes, forehead chin, freckles, etc.) under my foundation. This would be a great alternative in summer months for a concealer!

This is a product that’s been around my makeup collection for a couple months now, and I’ve really been liking how handy it is. It is the Hard Candy Welcome Mattifying Translucent Power. I really like dusting this over my foundation for a natural yet flawless look. It also keeps my face less oily throughout the day. The powder is very light and absorbs into the skin. I like using a kabuki brush to apply it all over the face!

Here’s a swatch of it. Initially it does look very light, and with a heavy hand, it can give a whitish cast on the fast, but used correctly it does it’s job wonderfully. It has no smell, and feels very smooth and fine.

Here it is blended over the foundation swatch!!

This is the Eco Tools Bronzing Brush, a huge chunky brush that I’ve been loving. It’s incredibly soft and dense it is perfect for powder and bronzer. I’m a big fan of Eco Tools and recommend any of their brushes!! They are a great value, and are quality made. Check them out!!

This is the NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus, I’ve talked about this before but had to bring it up again since it is SO gorgeous. I REALLY like these stick blushes because of the formula and the pigmentation. They feel incredibly smooth and almost gel-like, without being cakey or sticky, and apply to the skin easily. The stick holds it’s shape very well, and the packaging is pretty good. You only need a couple dabs of this on your cheek for a great natural flush.

Here’s a swatch of the NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus.

Swatch of the NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus blended out!!

I’ve been really fortunate to get two of these in my recent makeup swaps, and I’ve been loving using it ever since!!!! It really is an incredible matte bronzer and the perk is that it smells like cocoa. lol I like using this under my cheekbones and the temples of my head for a warm contour. Love using this with my Eco Tools Bronzing Brush! 🙂

This is nothing new if you’ve been following my blog, The Loreal Colour Riche Balm!!!! This is in the shade Caring Coral. It is a perfect lightly tinted lip moisturizer with an SPF of 15. I’ve been attracted to more warm corally shades since summer is right around the corner, and have been topping my lips off with this! Can’t stop saying how much I like them!

This is a recent drugstore purchase, the Wet N’ Wild Mega Shield Lipstick in Within These Adobe Walls. I saw a review on these lipsticks not too long ago and wasn’t too interested in them until I saw this color! It is an amazing warm mid tone pink shade with a hint of neutrals. Great everyday lip color, and the formula is very pigmented and moisturizing! The only downside I would say is the cheap packaging!!

This is also a recent drugstore purchase, and I am SO happy that I got this! It’s the Revlon Colorstay Retractable Eyeliner in Brown. I’ve been wearing a lot of brown eyeliner for work since it looks much more natural, but have been let down by some that don’t have as much staying power. However this one is VERY different!! This has a great pigmented formula that stays on the skin for hours!!! I did a swatch on my hand and it wouldn’t even budge if I rubbed it hard with my fingers! Very impressed with this, worth the $5.

Swatches: Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer, Revlon Colorstay Retractable Eyeliner in Brown, Wet N’ Wild Mega Shield Lipstick in Within These Adobe Walls, and Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral

Last but not least, a nail polish!! This is the Sephora Glitter Nail Polish in Sugar Plum Faeries Gone Wild. Such a pretty purple glittery polish!!! I’ve been wearing this on my toes and recently to do my purple ombre glitter nails!!  The glitter has a combination of fine purple reflects and small purple hexagons. Love it!!!!

Here’s a close up!!! Nail tutorial coming soon!! 🙂

Loving my recent drugstore purchases, what do you guys think!?

What’s In My Bag! (Pic Heavy)

A what’s in my bag post! There’s always a fascination of what’s in another person’s bag, makeup bag, shower, or closet. I always like reading posts or watching videos of these kind of things, mostly to get ideas, and I think it’s fun to see what people carry around with them depending on their style and personality! This is my Micheal Kors bag I got last year, it’s the Grayson Large Satchel Luggage, I decided to treat myself since I had saved a little!

It’s a fairly spacious bag, I could put LOTS of stuff in it if I needed to, the quality of the bag is wonderful and I try to keep it as clean as possible! The detailing is really good, and the leather is very soft and durable. The stitching is also very good, and I think this bag will last me a long time.

Here’s all the stuff I carry around with me on a daily basis. Most of the things are quite boring, like tissue paper, gum, etc., but I’ll share the rest in case anyone is interested! 🙂

This is my Burberry Wallet, I got this a couple years ago at Nordstrom as a Christmas gift from my mom! (So nice of her) I’ve kept it in pretty good condition, but since it’s so well made, it was pretty easy to take care of by itself. It’s fairly wide and can fit a lot of things that I need on a daily basis. It has the traditional Burberry checker print, which I like, it’s somewhat classic and goes with everything!

Here’s the inside (hiding my driver’s license ;)) lol It fits a lot of cards and knick knacks on the inside, and the other side has a separate compartment for money etc. I really like this wallet, and I’ve come to really like Burberry and their accessories! I just wish they weren’t SO expensive!! XD

This is my phone, I recently upgraded to the iphone 4, I gave my old iphone3 to my mom, since she had never used a smart phone. I really like the iphone 4, it has great resolution, high speed, and you can really do a lot with it. It’s gotten me out of a lot of tricky situations! lol It also has a camera on both sides so you can take pictures and conference calls, and also record video which is great! The sound is also pretty good, it’s a great investment as it is like a personal computer. My phone case is a Rilakkuma case, it’s really cute and has ears on it, people comment on it all the time. 🙂

This is my BCBG bracelet I got at Macy’s that I recently and fell in love with. They have a lot of colors which come in leather or this jelly texture, each with a cute saying like “sweet”, “tough”, “fierce”, “love”, etc. They were SO cute it was hard to pick one! They were about $20, so they weren’t that bad, but I just love it and it’s worth it to me!

Mine is pink and says “sweet” in gold letters!

I always carry around lip balm because my lips always seem to chap. I really love the Loreal Colour Riche Balm, as I have many of them!! I really like that they have SPF and just a hint of color. The Nivea Balm is a good overall balm to put on my lips, and the Love & Toast Vanilla Chai Lip Balm is the newest addition. It smells heavenly, like vanilla and chai, and makes my lips feel very smooth and hydrated.

I also keep a hand cream or two around since my hands and nail areas can get dry. I LOVE the Cute as Hell Blushing Violet and Quince Hand Lotion, it smells AMAZING. I have backups of this to prove it. The Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream is a new addition, and I love it as well. It has a lighter scent, but has such a great moisturizing formula. It also has quite a bit of product so it’ll last a long time! Love it!!

These are my Juicy Couture Sunglasses, I think the frames are called Country Club 2, and my regular Armani eyeglasses. My eyesight has been getting worse as the years go by -_-; and I needed to get stronger prescription lenses. The frames make me look professional, and fit comfortably on my face. The sunglasses are a but squared, but still give me a great look. The frames itself hide the majority of my eyes and face, so they are a bit big. I love how they fit and feel, so I have no problem with them!

This is my Shiseido Makeup bag, I have all my daily essential makeup in here, that I use everyday. I have a post here on my latest what’s in my makeup bag contents, I hope you enjoy! Things get removed and put in all the time, so it is really slowly ever changing.  There are a few staples that I haven’t changed in a while though!

Here are my other knick-knacks that I carry around in my bag. I recently tried the Colgate wisps, which are like on the go mini tooth brushes, they kind of work, but give you a fresh blast of clean during the day if you need it (heavy lunch etc.). I absolutely LOVE tea, so I need to have some around in case I feel like a cup during the day or night, especially at work! The 5 Cobalt gum I carry around in case I want a quick freshener, the mint is fairly strong and lasts a while. I also carry my passport around in case I need more identification than my driver’s license, which surprisingly people ask often!

Another Drugstore Haul! Frederic Fekkai, Loreal, Maybelline, Wet N’ Wild

Yet another drugstore haul, I was really inspired by today’s nice weather, and I’m ever more excited for the summer months! Every girl needs her summer arsenal of beauty products, as they drastically differ from the products I use in the fall/winter. I was really drawn to corals, blues, and golds, here are the goodies I picked up today!

This is the Frederic Fekkai Full Volume Mousse. I haven’t tried that many of his products besides at a salon, but I always am curious when I pass it in the beauty isles. Frederic Fekkai hair products are known to have great effects on the hair.  I picked this up because warm weather is coming and I want that full bodied, effortless, wavy hair. It says it’s a lightweight styling mousse with body building molecules and rich botanicals to plump and thicken hair for volume and lift. Use 2-3 pumps after your shower to towel dried hair, focusing at the roots of the hair.

The pump is great, and easy to use, and I really only need about 1-2 pumps for my med/long hair! If I use any more, my hair starts to feel dry and “crunchy” at parts, but loosely tousled into the roots, my hair looks, volumized, fresh, and sexy! The smell is light and fresh, and the texture doesn’t weigh my hair down. I used this directly on dry hair, and I feel like this has the same effect. I like this! 🙂

Wee! Another Colour Riche Balm! I LOVE these, can’t get enough! I got it in Caring Coral, since I thought the color would be appropriate for sping/summer. The packaging is sleek and nice, and represents the color of the balm inside. I love throwing these in my purse for on the go touch ups!

The color is a deep peachy coral color, and it looks fantastic in the tube. These aren’t as pigmented as the Revlon Lip Butters, but for me these have a totally different purpose. I love the fact it as SPF, and gives a nice, lightly moisturizing, natural tint to my lips! My face looks more together and alive! The only things that might deter people from liking this is the light SPF scent/taste. I don’t mind it at all, but some people in the beauty community have commented about it. I think these enhance the natural color of your lips rather than slathering on color. Very pretty!

Swatch: Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral

This is the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Spirited Seas. It’s SUCH a gorgeous palette, and these quads are actually very good quality, especially for Maybelline. (I hate their quints! :p) The formula is soft, shimmery, very pigmented, and smooth. The colors are fresh, vibrant, and reminds me of sun, sand, and water! The lightest shade reminds me a lot of Virgin by Urban Decay, and I’d say the darkest blue shade is the least smooth in texture.  Surprisingly, the applicator that it comes with isn’t that bad either. Anyway, I love the application of these, and highly recommend them!

I got a couple more Wet N’ Wild Spoiled nail polishes because I was pretty impressed with the other ones I got. For $1.99 a pop, can’t go wrong! The left one is “I’m Ba-roque”, and the right is “Shrimp on a Barbie”. I love the shimmery quality of these polishes and the color selection. I’m Ba-roque is a metallic deep gold color, and Shrimp on a Barbie is a shimmery coral-red with gold reflects! So pretty!

Wearing “I’m Ba-roque” on my toes!

Here’s the final look with all the products above, what do you think?! 🙂

March Favorites! ♡

Yay! Time for March favorites!! I literally went on auto pilot and grabbed for the first things in each category that I saw. These are things that I ALWAYS grab for, and is so essential for a gorgeous spring face. Although there are other things I could include, these are the things I thought represented it the best! 🙂

L to R: Milani HD Advanced Concealer in 02, Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette in Hidden Agenda, Stila Prime Pot in Taffy, Makeup Forever HD Foundation #120

For the face, I like using a good concealer, the Sonia Kashuk Concealer palette is great for med/full coverage effects, where the Milani is more light/med coverage for days I want to go more natural. It’s a convenient pen shape and makes my skin feel soft and moisturized. I love using the Kashuk palette with a Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Bush, and I especially love the green corrector shade. I also thought including a translucent powder is really smart! The Stila prime pot is a flesh toned cream shadow primer that can be used under any eye look. It really makes your eyeshadow stick but can change the finish of some eyeshadow colors. The Makeup Forever HD Foundation is my favorite so far next to my BB Creams. It has a great color selection and amazing finish on the skin!  It’s a must have!!

L to R: Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Med. Dark, Josie Maran Argan Blush in Fever, Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

The Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder is the BEST Mac powder in my opinion, maybe even better than my Mac Skinfinish Natural. It’s finely milled and goes on so smooth, it feels light yet provides decent coverage! The Josie Maran line is gorgeous, with it eco-conscious themes, and natural ingredients, I was immediately drawn to it. The Argan blush in Fever is a deep dusty warm rose color, and comes in sleek rose gold packaging. The formula also contains Argan Oil so it’s supposed to be good for the skin! The Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer is a fun bronzer to have because of it’s pattern and girly colors. It gives an amazing bronze gleam to your face without being “dirty” looking. The Milani baked blushes are wonderful, and Luminoso is no different. It can be used as a highlighter and built up as a blush. It has a gorgeous warm peachy pink/gold luminescent color!

L to R: DiorshowWaterproof Mascara, Tokidoki Eyeshadow in Carnivora, Too Faced Galaxy Glam Eyeshadow in Cocoa Comet, Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Fashion Forward, Mac Eyeshadow in Idol Eyes, Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Fade, and Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof in Marine

Diorshow is my HG mascara. I bought it before my wedding to have a fool proof mascara that would last me all night, but it has done so much more! It makes my lashes look full, soft, and volumized, and the formula doesn’t get all over my eyes when I apply it. The Tokidoki eyeshadow in Carnivora is a pretty shimmery champagne color, and glides on soft and pigmented on the eyes. The Too Faced Galaxy Glam Eyeshadow in Cocoa Comet is something that I use very often. It’s a unique chocolate brown color with green iridescent swirls of champagne. I love using this in my outer-v for more natural looks. The Lancome eyeshadow is Fashion Forward is a lovely light shimmery pastel green color that makes my eyes look fresh and wide, I also like using this is my inner corners and under my lower lash line. Mac Idol Eyes was a suprise find, it’s not the most pigmented eyeshadow, but gives your eyes a soft mysterious sparkle. The color is a silver violet with gold reflects. I LOVE Rock & Republic Makeup, they are such great quality and have amazing packaging. Fade is a light silvery lavender color that goes on very opaque. The formula is creamy, soft, and easily blendable. The Sephora 12 HR Crayons are great for a bold long wearing look. I’m not sure if it actually last 12 Hrs, but the color and texture is gorgeous! I love using this instead of my black eyeliner on certain looks! Last but not least, Nars Elsa is gorgeous on the eyes for spring. I swatched this in my Nars Duo Collection post, it’s a very pretty silvery light satin seafoam and a satin shimmery lavender!

L to R: Clarins Gloss Appeal in 03, Revlon Lip Gloss in Lilac Pastelle, Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Pink Satine, NYX Round Lipstick in Summer Love

I LOVE the Clarins Glosses, I was lucky enough to find them at TJMaxx last year! They are not sticky, have amazing colors, and make your lips looks fresh and wet! This color is almost like a duochrome, and it’s a great spring/summer pick. The Revlon Gloss in Lilac Pastelle is a creamy, non-sticky gloss that makes your lips look sleek and slightly tinted. The lilac color is gorgeous, and can be seen in the light! I’m obsessed with the Loreal Colour Riche Balms, they do wonders for my lips, and gives them a nice tint of color, nothing too crazy. I love the packaging and the fact they have SPF. The NYX Round Lipstick are amazing for the value, Summer Love is a great nude lip color, that glides on easily and smell great!

What are your March must-haves??

Revlon Lip Butter Creamsicle Review!

Yes, I am oh so very late to the Revlon Lip Butter bandwagon, but only because I was enjoying the Loreal Color Riche Balms so much! I had swatched a couple of these in the store but none of the colors really jumped out untill now! Finally, I found one I like! This is in the Lip Butter in Creamsicle, it’s a semi opaque light peachy nude color, and looks like you’re wearing a nude lipstick and gloss in one swipe! The texture is very rich, and glides on with a buttery smooth finish. The wear is surprisingly pretty good on these, and the packaging is very cute! Love the argyle.

It has a twist up tube, and you can actually see the product through the top of the tube, which is nice because you can see which color you are getting! I twisted the butter all the way up and there’s isn’t too much in the tube itself. I’d say the entire stick of product is probably about an inch tall! I guess it’s Ok considering you won’t be using a whole lot on each application, but I was little surprised!

I guess this would be a great alternative on days where I want to wear and nude lip and I’m feeling lazy!! I did notice that it can settle into the lines on my lips a bit, but can be smoothed out again by pressing your lips together. Overall, it feels comfortable and very moisturizing on my lips. I don’t feel the need to reapply very often. Again, very cute packing! 🙂

I actually really like this! This will be the newest addition to my makeup bag. 🙂

Have you tried these??

My Skincare Picks!

Casewell-Massey Floral Rose Water

I discovered this Casewell-Massey Floral Rose Water when I was venturing into the organic skincare world. I love this toner because it is natural, gently cleans skin, softens, and smells great! Check your local organic market and browse through some sites online to find it. Pour a bit on a cotton round and gently glide it all over your face. There are also great alternative brands, and is great for sensitive skin.

L to R: Estee Lauder Take It Away Total Makeup Remover, Lancome Bi-Facil

There are my TOP two makeup removers, the Estee Lauder Take It Away Total Makeup Remover, and the Lancome Bi-Facil. The Bi-Facil has been around for some time now, and there’s reason why it’s one of the top selling high end makeup removers. It’s very effective, light, and non-greasy. I can use it on my face as well as on my eyes. The Estee Lauder Take It Away Remover is a bit more cream-like, and has a fresh scent. I use this strictly on my eyes for mascara and liner on a q-tip because that’s where I feel it is most effective. It can sting a bit if you put it on a raw area, but this is great for people who have combination to oily skin. I think this also comes in a wipe form.

L to R: Claudalie Bio Grape Water Moisturizing Spray, Boots No. 7 Soft & Soothed Toner for Normal/Dry Skin

Over the years I have grown an affection for Boots No. 7 products because of how great the skincare products really are. For a drugstore brand, this is worth every penny. The Boots No. 7 Soft & Soothed Toner for Normal/Dry skin is good for everyday use to clean off remaining makeup after you wash your face. I use this every morning before I put on my makeup, or if you need a fresh pick me up during the day. It makes my skin fresh, clean, moisturized, and soft. The Claudalie Bio Grape Water Moisturizing Spray is wonderful for on the go freshness. I use this after I shower to lock in moisture on my face, and also as a makeup setting spray. I notice that it gives my skin a slight fresh, dewy glow, and feels amazingly hydrated. Highly recommended.

L to R: EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm, C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve, Sally Hansen Vita-A Lip Line Smoother

I can’t live without lip balms. The lips are the first place on my skin to get dry instantly. I’ve tried a lot of lip products over the years and these are the ones I get the most use out of. The C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve is a multi-purpose salve to use on your face, knees, elbows, lips, and cuticles. It smells like sweet rose, and feels very emollient. I apply this on my lips at night and also before I apply lipstick if my lips are particularly dry. The EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm is a great everyday lip balm. I love this scent and I love that it’s a natural product. The balm itself is domed and is a natural waxy yellow color. I feels very smooth and gives your lips a slight tingle. Last but not least, the Sally Hansen Vita-A Lip Line Smoother. I probably use this product the most out of the three. It says it has anti-aging and vitamin-powered properties to rejuvenate and moisten your lips. It certainly does that, I use this every time I use a lipstick, or by itself during the day. It smells a bit like peaches and glides on effortlessly. This is not very long wearing, but I love it none the less!

L to R: Estee Lauder Hydrationist Serum, Swanson’s DMAE Serum, Beauty Solutions Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Serum, Swanson’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Serums are kind of a new thing I got into, as I just hit a “Omg I’m a quarter through my life” birthday milestone. Serums serve different purposes depending on the ingredients and it’s potency. The Estee Lauder Hydrationist Serum is a lightweight alternative to your typical moisturizer. It has a clear, jelly-like watery formula that absorbs into your skin quickly. It smells a bit like cucumbers and makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. The Swanson’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum is strictly for locking in moisture on my face. There are many skin products that contain Hyaluronic Acid for this purpose. The Swanson’s brand is natural and fairly inexpensive which is why I initially gravitated towards it. You just need a little drop to pat all over your face. It makes my skin feel plump and very dewy. The DMAE Serum is for skin tightening and firming. I use this sparingly in certain areas where I feel I will see first signs of aging (i.e. under my chin, neck area, around my eye area etc.) The last product is a Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Serum. This is supposed to be an intensive firming treatment for your skin. They say prevention is key, so I said why not. I use this product sparingly on my eye and mouth area.

Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid for Sensitive Skin

The Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid is a light weight, moisturizing, liquidly lotion. It’s fragrance free, non-greasy, and contains aloe & chamomile. I use this alone on my face before makeup to prep the skin, and also mix it with whatever liquid foundation I’m using to give my face a dewy glow. I love this product because it makes my skin feel supple, clean, and smooth. It’s a great all around drugstore product to have around!

Boots No. 7 Protect and Perfect Night Cream

This product I CANNOT live without. It’s the Boots No. 7 Protect and Perfect Night Cream. I discovered this last year after being discouraged from the long search for a prefect department store night cream. I tried some Estee Lauder products and they just felt too heavy, oily, and were heavily scented. This cream is light weight, smells fresh, and keeps my skin feeling hydrated and balanced. I use this in the daytime as well as an alternative moisturizer. I doesn’t feel heavy on my face and absorbs into my skin easily. This is probably my MOST used skincare product I own. I highly recommend this if you have combination skin!

This is the Lancome Tonqiue Control Purifying Toner. It contains little finely milled powder to help mattify the face after cleansing, and control shine. I LOVE this toner because it helps to control oil in my t-zone and keep my face clean. I definitely recommend this for people with oily skin, because of it’s contents and how it works on my face. This can’t find this product at the counter anymore, but it still easy to find on beauty sites or Ebay for a great price. There is a comparable product that Lancome has now called the Tonique Pure Focus Toner which I’m pretty sure is VERY similar. Check out your local Lancome counter or Lancome.com for more info!
