Ahh.. Nars. There’s something about that modern sleek packaging and those artfully composed letters that make me smile. Over the years I’ve managed to collect a few of their duo eyeshadows, that I savor and enjoy on special occasions. Their color combinations are so amazing, I expect nothing less from a brand created by renound high fashion makeup artist Francois Nars. The only thing is the packaging gets so dirty!! Anyway, still want to collect them all!! 🙂
I’ve been drawn to more cooler colors, lots of blues, greens, purples, and greys, I love how these colors look on the skin and with my brown eyes and hair. None of them are garish or awkward looking (as some greens and blues can be) they look very chic and sophisticated on. Most of these are from various collections, but here are all the ones I have!
Elsa (on left) is a beautiful combinations of light lavender and a light steely sea foam green color. Both have TINY reflects in them which make them come alive in the light but not too shimmery like some shadows. Nouveou Monde (on right) is a combination of a similar light lavender color, with a BIT more shimmer, and a metallic rusty gold color. Again, these colors look amazing on the eyes, and can be worn alone or blended together! My favorite has to be the light sea foam shade in Elsa.

Haight Ashbury (on left) is a matte dusty cornflower light grey/lavender color and a shimmery light silvery green. I believe this was limited edition from their San Fransisco Collection in 2011. The green color is gorgeous but the matte color is a bit uneven when applied. On the lid it seems to apply a bit better but sheerer. Bateau ivre from Spring 2011 (on right) is a matte satin electric blue and a matte satin deep navy color and can apply a bit inconsistently on the skin. They apply a bit sheer, but looks amazingly wearable on the eyes! The colors can be built up, and this is definitely one that you can wear together for the modern bold look!

Island Fever (on left) is another watery blue combination with a satin matte blue and a satin shimmery warm grey/lavender color. The colors look somewhat tropical and sophisticated, but have to say this is the least favorite out of all my other ones even though I do like it. It reminds me of a tropical storm, with the slight iridescent shimmer then dulled by the satin matter texture. Habanera (on right) is my newest addition, and it is GORGEOUS. It has a fabulous shimmery green color with a deep satin eggplant color, the color payoff on these are amazing and look amazing on the eyes!!
