NYX Honey Dew me Up Serum & Primer Review

Hey girls! Hope everyone is doing awesome, I wanted to share the fairly new NYX Honey Dew Me Up Serum & PrimerΒ that I have been enjoying lately! It’s been super hot here, and I’ve been craving a lighter, more hydrated face for everyday. I was in passing through a makeup isle and came across this little beauty from NYX! I was immediately intrigued due to the packaging, I love anything gold!! The price tag was a bit steep for NYX at $16, but I had to try it none the less. I have anything with honey in it for the skin, it really helps to moisturize my skin and keep it looking radiant. It has a light serumy texture with tiny little gold flecks! It’s really hydrating on the skin without feeling heavy or sticky, it almost has a watery-gel texture. It’s really nice under makeup, and does help makeup apply more evenly. As far as longevity, it keeps my makeup looking fresh and my skin feeling awesome. Highly recommend!

Ebay Jessup Makeup Brush Set Tom Ford DUPE!

IMG_4359IMG_4358IMG_4360 IMG_4361 IMG_4362Hey girls! ❀ I wanted to share with you my brand new brush set that I got off EBay! These looked really similar to the Tom Ford makeup brush set that I’ve seen around the internet but of course I had no intention of paying $70-100 per brush. πŸ˜› This set was onlyΒ $23 for all 12 brushes, and they are VERY similar. These are animal hair brushes, so they aren’t vegan unfortunately, but they are incredibly soft. The handles are an acrylic material with gold metal, they don’t feel too heavy, but the bristles themselves are amazing. The set came with 5 face brushes, and 7 eye brushes. I’m absolutely happy with these and can’t wait to test them out! They are also flat on the bottom so you cant stand them up on your vanity if you want to! Jessup is a great brush brand found on Ebay with lots of other dupes from Sigma and other brands, I totally recommend checking them out!

Brightening With Glam Glow

After much hulabaloo, and trying a few samples, I bought a full size Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I know, I know, it’s expensive, but I was able to find it on discount at TJMaxx which made the blow a bit better. My skin for some reason was starting to have small breakouts around my nose and t-zone, I’m sure from my lax beauty habits in the recent cold winter months. The mask itself is a pale green tingling mud with botanicals, and exfoliators. The main ingredients are: French Green Clay, Volcanic Pumice Rock, Chamomile, Marigold, Cucumber, Herbs and Green Tea Leaves. The smell is really nice, very clean and spa like, the texture is very thick and chunky due to the tea leaves. I use only a small amount in my nose and trouble areas since you only get a little under 2 oz in the full size jar (which retails for $69). You can move the mask around before it sets on your skin, but do so gently because the exfoliates are a bit coarse. Once it sits for a bit it starts to tingle and burn, kind of like menthol. After washing, my skin felt clean and refreshed! As far as clearing up my skin, I do use other products so it is hard to say if this is a holy grail product for me. I think it does an ok job of clarifying for me personally. There are other, better, cheaper alternatives out there that I have used.

What do you guys think of GlamGlow?

Hey ladies! ❀ The colder months are always a bit more trying on the skin, but that just means getting to try and use some great new skincare! These are tried and true products for me, things that I reach for all the time. Caudalie overall is an amazing skincare brand, I absolutely love the beauty elixer and divine oil for my skin. The Jurlique Love Balm smells like roses and keeps my lip hydrated and smooth. I’m in love with face oils, and this one I found from Good4U Herbals on Etsy is amazing, it’s made from roses, and keeps my skin clear, hydrated, and soft without being too oily. The L’Oreal balm is an amazing moisturizer. it’s a bit thicker, but I feel like my skin just drinks this up. L’Occitane is another great skincare brand, and this little eye cream has been a great skin saver for under the eyes. The goods: Jurlique Love Balm, Caudalie Beauty Elixer, Caudalie Divine Oil, Loreal Age Perfect Hyrda Nutrician Golden Balm, Good4U Rose Serum, and the L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Eye Balm.

This post was a long time coming, but I’m finally posting about the Anastasia Contour Kit $40! It was sold out for a long time on their website and on Sephora, but I managed to get my hands on it a few weeks ago and I’ve been using it non stop ever since. Β I absolutely love this palette, it’s sleek, nice quality, and has everything you need to sculpt your face. It has 3 highlight shades (2 matte and 1 shimmer) and 3 matte contour shades. Some are more cool toned and some are warm toned so it’s perfect to mix and match to create a natural look. I love using the yellow toned highlight and the mid/cool toned sculpt powder along my cheek bones and nose. Have you guys tried this?

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab

This foundation is fabulous, it’s very dewy and natural looking, while still having buildable coverage. This shade is really dead on for me right now especially because I have a bit of a tan, and with bronzer it’s really quite flattering. What I love about this is that it really sets in a nice way. It doesn’t stay sticky or wet feeling on the face, like most dewy foundations, and it doesn’t make me break out! I do still set it with a translucent powder, but it could go without it. It really conceals all my discoloration and evens out my skin tone really well! Highly recommend!

My Current Face Favorites! β€

Hello everyone! This post is a long time coming, but I wanted to do it now because I finally got a bunch of products that I really love using on my face! Over the seasons, items have changed, but these overall have been my go-to favorites for my everyday looks! These are my favorite foundations/BB Creams of the moment, the YSL Touch Eclat Illuminating Foundation, Skin79 The Oriental BB Cream and Shimmering BB Cream, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, and the Sephora Instant Radiance Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid. LOVE all of these, I prefer hydrating, light textured, dewy, medium coverage foundations for the skin. Makes me look healthy and natural!

This is the Clarins Poudre Multi-Eclat Mineral Loose Powder, which came out this year for Spring 2013, the packaging is so pretty, a bit bulky, but is so nice. The powder itself is micro fine, light textured, sheer, and so smooth. It give the skin a flawless slightly illuminated finish. It smells nice too!!

Next is the CoverFX MatteFX Powder, Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Corrector, Benefit Playstick, and ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer. I absolutely love these products, the Benefit Playstick is probably my all time favorite stick foundation/concealer. It’s so creamy and light, and the finish is amazing! The CoverFX MatteFX Powder I use everyday, it just set my makeup and keeps my makeup from sliding around during the day and gives a translucent effect. The Covergirl Corrector is a recent find but I’ve been suing it everyday, I LOVE the texture, my undereyes feel hydrated, and the coverage is good without being cakey. The ELF concealer I use on it’s own on days where I want to be natural. It has good coverage, feels nice and dewy, and is a great color match. Closest product that feels like a BB Cream without being one!

Next is the Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace, Mac Archie’s Girl Blush in Cream Soda, and Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Frivole. I absolutely love Sleek as a brand, too bad it’s only available in the UK! I’ve really been loving tangerine toned blushes applied with a light stippling brush, the color is co gorgeous with a light hand! The Mac blush in Cream Soda is a great everyday light peach blush, which just makes me skin look more alive. The Chanel blush was a splurge, but the quality of it and the color is SO gorgeous. highly recommend.

These are my go-to face powders and bronzers, the Revlon Photoready Bronzed and Chic Bronzer, Lancome Dual Finish Versatile Face Powder, and the Lola Pressed Powder in Wheat. All of these powders are matte, but not cakey. The texture is very light and smooth. Love the Revlon bronzer because of the different quadrants, and how pretty is the coral print? The Lancome Dual Finish Powder is just hands down one of the best face powders I’ve used, and the the Lola Pressed Powder I use as a natural contour, which I found for $1 on AllCosmeticsWholesale!

Next are mascaras, my newest fav is the Dior Diorshow Extase Mascara in Black, 17 Peep Show Mascara in Brown/Black, Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara, and the Nars Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. All of these I really like. The Nars and Dior mascaras have to be at the top, the 17 Peepshow Mascara is great for everyday natural wear. The Loreal Mascara is a total DUPE for the Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara. I love the formula for these, not too wet or dry, slightly creamy in a way, pigmented, stays on the lashes, and voluminous.

Lastly are my eyeliner and brow products! I have my Mememe Eye Spy Eyeliner Pencil that I use for my brows, the Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner Pen, Sleek Eau La Liner, Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner, my spooly wand, and the Loreal Extra Intense Liquid Eyeliner Pencil. The Maybelliner Master Precise Pen is amazing, it’s my go-to for any winged eyeliner look. It just makes my eyes look polished and defined. The Too Face eyeliner is so creamy and pigmented, amazing for lining the upper lash line and smudging out looks. The Sleek Eau La Liner is great all around, lasts, creamy, and is very pigmented. The Loreal Liner is pretty much a gel liner in a pencil form, SO creamy and very black. I use a angled brush to use this pencil!

Overall, I LOVE all these products, and I can see myself using them for the greater part of the year.

Sample Society August 2012!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late post!! 😦 My first Sample Society box from Beauty Bar/Allure cam a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE IT! It’s $15/month and you get 5-6 deluxe beauty samples! I canceled my Birchbox and MyGlam because I wanted to try something different, I really like this! I can see myself using and enjoying all the products which has been rare for me.

Here’s the box, very sturdy ad a nice matte black. It’s about the same size as a Birchbox so it fits nicely in my mailbox! I guess this wall a collaboration with Allure and BeautyBar.com, which is an online beauty store, and I’m, happy to see the quality of everything inside!

When I open the box, of course there’s a little “card”, it’s more like a booklet, and it has tips, product info, and other things if you want to read it.

It also has a $15 off code with a $50 purchase on BeautyBar! That’s a nice little perk, and apparently you get this with every box! πŸ™‚

Here are the contents of this months box! YAY! πŸ˜€ SO HAPPY. After being disappointed again and again with these beauty subscriptions, I’m happy that I actually got a box I’m excited about. The inside has a lot of black shredding so nothing was damaged or leaking! Gorgeous.

First things I got was this Phyto Phytonectar Oil Deluxe Sample. It’s aΒ  Pre-Shampoo Ultra Nourishing Oil Treatment easily penetrates deeply into each strand bringing damaged, dehydrated hair back to life. It’s very thick, and you’re supposed to use it on damaged areas, leave on for 15 mins, then rinse in the shower. Can’t wait to try!

Next I got the Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara, Black Ice Deluxe Sample. It was a cute little tube of mascara with a nice thick brush. THe formula wasn’t very wet, and went on to give a VERY natural and soft look. I know Jane Iredale is a eco-conscious brand, so I’m definitely in support of that.

Next was the thing I was MOST excited about, a full size Deborah Lippman Nail Polish in Private Dancer!!! This is $18 in stores, this is by itself is worth more than what I payed for this month’s. Amazing. It’s a pretty metallic purple with a hint of duo chrome gold. It goes on more purple than anything else, but such an awesome color!!

Next is the Elemental Herbology Skin Care Deluxe Sample. It says it’s a pro-collagen synthesis with Elemental Herbology Cell Plumping – Winter Facial Hydrator. wow lol It has anti-aging properties, soothe, boost moisture, protect and plump, and improve your skin’s metabolism. It’s actually a really nice product. It feels like a very thin clay face mask. I like using it before I jump in the shower. The full size of this is $50 for 2.5oz, so this is a nice size sample! πŸ™‚

(got this photo here) This is the Arcona Cranberry Toner, I had gotten a sample of this on my latest Beautyfix box, so I welcomed having another one! It’s a really nice gentle toner that lightly smells like cranberries! This three-in-one formula tones and hydrates, while also infusing skin with protective antioxidants to leave your complexion looking and feeling refreshed. It has a weird pearly powder at the bottom so you have to shake it before use. Overall, love it!!

Lastly is the Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer Sample, I have yet to try this or hear about this brand, but it’s always nice to have a little thing of moisturizer around to throw in my purse or take with me when I’m traveling. Can’t wait to use this!

Dr. Perricone Super Watercress Detox Elixer Review!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to do do a quick post about this Super by Dr. Perricone Detox Elixer with Watercress and Sulforaphane. It’ a 4oz spritz bottle and retails for about $30, I was lucky to get it at TJMaxx for $14!!! It’s basically a moisture/setting/detox spray for your skin! It can be used as a gentle exfoliator after cleansing, or as a refreshing mist sprayed throughout the day to wash away toxins and give you a fresh, flawless face.

Here’s the box, a little beat up on the bottom, as most TJMAxx boxes are, but that’s ok I’m planning to keep the box! I really like the packaging, super fun, bright, and modern, I’ve been really curious about his Super line, so I’m happy to give this a try at a great price. I usually stick with my Caudalie spray, but it can get expensive!!! Looking forward to seeing how this works!

The side of the box lists all the ingredients that it does NOT contain, it’s a very natural “green” spray, which I totally support! The box was also made from recycled paper! yay! πŸ™‚

The bottle is awesome!! It also comes with a separate spray pump and a small paper that has a short blurb about Dr. Perricone and the product. Love it!! The spray itself smells really clean and fresh, kind of like lightly sweet cucumbers. The liquid absorbs quickly, and leaves a soft, clean finish when it dries. The only thing I would say is that the spray pump gives you a direct hit on the face! lol I wish it was more of a mist!! But overall, it’s great to use after your shower, mid-day pick me up, and as a setting spray. Cool!

Have you tried Dr. Perricone Super products??

My 100th Post!!! Loreal Magic Lumi & Hard Candy Welcome Matte Powder Review

I went to the drugstore today and had to pick up a couple things, the Hard Candy Welcome Matte I had recently bought for a makeup swap and wanted to try it myself! The Loreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer I had been eyeing after seeing some reviews on Youtube. Here they are! πŸ™‚

This is the Loreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer. It’s a pretty slim bottle, so you’re not really getting a lot of product for the price, although you only need to use one pump for it to work. I really like the pearly white and rose gold coloring of the packaging! Can’t wait to try it!

It comes with a pump top which is convenient. You can control how much product you want to use as well as keep the liquid inside clean. It does come with a cap to protect the pump if you wanted to use that as well.

Here’s the back of the bottle, it has some instructions on how to use the product as well as the ingredients. It’s a light formula that is supposed to give you a supple dewy look, that boosts liveliness and luminosity.

The fluid itself is very liquidy, and is a iridescent pearly white color. The texture is very moisturizing and smooth, without being heavy or greasy on the skin. Feels like a skin care product! There is no smell which I prefer, and so far it seems like it is a liquid highlighter if sorts.

Blended out on the skin, my skin immediately feels soft and moisturized, and the primer leaves an amazing subtle pearly sheen to the skin. I REALLY like this product!!! I can see myself using this under foundation, or alone as a highlighter to certain areas of my face. It does have pretty good staying power and makes my skin look very nice! Impressed with this!

This is the Hard Candy Welcome Matte Powder. I had gotten this for the person I had done a makeup swap with and was interested about it myself. I decided to get it and try it out since I heard so many good thing about it. The packaging is super cute and very Hard Candy, but I was really curious about the product itself!

The compact comes with a mirror and VERY cute heart shaped pink sponge, which it actually pretty good quality!

Here’s the back of the compact just so you can see the label. πŸ™‚

On the skin, the powder is light and translucent, and does not feel cakey! It makes my skin smooth and feel not-oily. I wore this all day today on top of the Loreal Lumi Primer and my makeup is still going strong! I’m really liking this product and can see myself using this daily! Especially since the weather is getting warmer! πŸ™‚

Also a quick note!!! I got this month’s Vogue Magazine in the mail and quickly looked through it to find a $2 off Coupon for any Loreal Magic Face product!!! Check it out if you are interested in trying any of them!! Also came with samples of the Loreal Magic Lumi Primer and Loreal Magic Perfecting Base!

Thanks for everyone who has been supporting me and my blog through my 100th post!! What do you think!? πŸ™‚

March Favorites! β™‘

Yay! Time for March favorites!! I literally went on auto pilot and grabbed for the first things in each category that I saw. These are things that I ALWAYS grab for, and is so essential for a gorgeous spring face. Although there are other things I could include, these are the things I thought represented it the best! πŸ™‚

L to R: Milani HD Advanced Concealer in 02, Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette in Hidden Agenda, Stila Prime Pot in Taffy, Makeup Forever HD Foundation #120

For the face, I like using a good concealer, the Sonia Kashuk Concealer palette is great for med/full coverage effects, where the Milani is more light/med coverage for days I want to go more natural. It’s a convenient pen shape and makes my skin feel soft and moisturized. I love using the Kashuk palette with a Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Bush, and I especially love the green corrector shade. I also thought including a translucent powder is really smart! The Stila prime pot is a flesh toned cream shadow primer that can be used under any eye look. It really makes your eyeshadow stick but can change the finish of some eyeshadow colors. The Makeup Forever HD Foundation is my favorite so far next to my BB Creams. It has a great color selection and amazing finish on the skin!Β  It’s a must have!!

L to R: Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Med. Dark, Josie Maran Argan Blush in Fever, Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

The Mac Studio Careblend Pressed Powder is the BEST Mac powder in my opinion, maybe even better than my Mac Skinfinish Natural. It’s finely milled and goes on so smooth, it feels light yet provides decent coverage! The Josie Maran line is gorgeous, with it eco-conscious themes, and natural ingredients, I was immediately drawn to it. The Argan blush in Fever is a deep dusty warm rose color, and comes in sleek rose gold packaging. The formula also contains Argan Oil so it’s supposed to be good for the skin! The Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer is a fun bronzer to have because of it’s pattern and girly colors. It gives an amazing bronze gleam to your face without being “dirty” looking. The Milani baked blushes are wonderful, and Luminoso is no different. It can be used as a highlighter and built up as a blush. It has a gorgeous warm peachy pink/gold luminescent color!

L to R: DiorshowWaterproof Mascara, Tokidoki Eyeshadow in Carnivora, Too Faced Galaxy Glam Eyeshadow in Cocoa Comet, Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Fashion Forward, Mac Eyeshadow in Idol Eyes, Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Fade, and Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof in Marine

Diorshow is my HG mascara. I bought it before my wedding to have a fool proof mascara that would last me all night, but it has done so much more! It makes my lashes look full, soft, and volumized, and the formula doesn’t get all over my eyes when I apply it. The Tokidoki eyeshadow in Carnivora is a pretty shimmery champagne color, and glides on soft and pigmented on the eyes. The Too Faced Galaxy Glam Eyeshadow in Cocoa Comet is something that I use very often. It’s a unique chocolate brown color with green iridescent swirls of champagne. I love using this in my outer-v for more natural looks. The Lancome eyeshadow is Fashion Forward is a lovely light shimmery pastel green color that makes my eyes look fresh and wide, I also like using this is my inner corners and under my lower lash line. Mac Idol Eyes was a suprise find, it’s not the most pigmented eyeshadow, but gives your eyes a soft mysterious sparkle. The color is a silver violet with gold reflects. I LOVE Rock & Republic Makeup, they are such great quality and have amazing packaging. Fade is a light silvery lavender color that goes on very opaque. The formula is creamy, soft, and easily blendable. The Sephora 12 HR Crayons are great for a bold long wearing look. I’m not sure if it actually last 12 Hrs, but the color and texture is gorgeous! I love using this instead of my black eyeliner on certain looks! Last but not least, Nars Elsa is gorgeous on the eyes for spring. I swatched this in my Nars Duo Collection post, it’s a very pretty silvery light satin seafoam and a satin shimmery lavender!

L to R: Clarins Gloss Appeal in 03, Revlon Lip Gloss in Lilac Pastelle, Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Pink Satine, NYX Round Lipstick in Summer Love

I LOVE the Clarins Glosses, I was lucky enough to find them at TJMaxx last year! They are not sticky, have amazing colors, and make your lips looks fresh and wet! This color is almost like a duochrome, and it’s a great spring/summer pick. The Revlon Gloss in Lilac Pastelle is a creamy, non-sticky gloss that makes your lips look sleek and slightly tinted. The lilac color is gorgeous, and can be seen in the light! I’m obsessed with the Loreal Colour Riche Balms, they do wonders for my lips, and gives them a nice tint of color, nothing too crazy. I love the packaging and the fact they have SPF. The NYX Round Lipstick are amazing for the value, Summer Love is a great nude lip color, that glides on easily and smell great!

What are your March must-haves??
