NYX Honey Dew me Up Serum & Primer Review

unnamed
Hey girls! Hope everyone is doing awesome, I wanted to share the fairly new NYX Honey Dew Me Up Serum & Primer that I have been enjoying lately! It’s been super hot here, and I’ve been craving a lighter, more hydrated face for everyday. I was in passing through a makeup isle and came across this little beauty from NYX! I was immediately intrigued due to the packaging, I love anything gold!! The price tag was a bit steep for NYX at $16, but I had to try it none the less. I have anything with honey in it for the skin, it really helps to moisturize my skin and keep it looking radiant. It has a light serumy texture with tiny little gold flecks! It’s really hydrating on the skin without feeling heavy or sticky, it almost has a watery-gel texture. It’s really nice under makeup, and does help makeup apply more evenly. As far as longevity, it keeps my makeup looking fresh and my skin feeling awesome. Highly recommend!

January Birchbox 2015

IMG_0997IMG_0999

Hey everyone! I got my January Birchbox in the mail today, I have to be honest, I really didn’t like it. 😛 Luckily, they gave me an extra 100 Birchbox points for sending a duplicate sample in my last box. I already had 100 saved up so basically I got $20 free that I used in their shop. I don’t like that I get mostly body lotion, primers, tiny perfume samples, and hair sprays in my boxes. I feel like those aren’t really products that I am interested in or bough really invest a lot of money in. Especially because there is more competition nowadays in the beauty box world, I am able to get really great full size products in my other boxes. Birchbox did implement a new feature where you can choose one of your samples you get ahead of time, but the good ones always get snatched up fast. Hopefully next month will be better!

Insta Natural Hyluronic serum + youth express eye gel duo!

12

Hey everyone! ❤ So continuing with the skincare streak that I have been on through winter, keeping my skin hydrated has been must, since the winters instantly dry out my skin. (Which makes on putting any makeup a drag.) I was recently able to try this wonderful duo by Insta Natural, the Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Youth Express Eye Gel. You can also find it on Amazon. I’ve used hyaluronic acid in the past and ave had really great results with it. It’s a clear, odorless liquid/gel that quickly absorbs into any skin type and hydrates without leaving any residue. It has no scent, is very clean, and can be mixed into other products for a little boost. It always helped my skin feel softer and more plump. I like these two because they are both a good size, under $20, paraben and cruelty free, and are enriched with Vitamin C, Green Tea and Aloe.

What’s your winter must have skincare staple? X

Brightening With Glam Glow

334
After much hulabaloo, and trying a few samples, I bought a full size Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I know, I know, it’s expensive, but I was able to find it on discount at TJMaxx which made the blow a bit better. My skin for some reason was starting to have small breakouts around my nose and t-zone, I’m sure from my lax beauty habits in the recent cold winter months. The mask itself is a pale green tingling mud with botanicals, and exfoliators. The main ingredients are: French Green Clay, Volcanic Pumice Rock, Chamomile, Marigold, Cucumber, Herbs and Green Tea Leaves. The smell is really nice, very clean and spa like, the texture is very thick and chunky due to the tea leaves. I use only a small amount in my nose and trouble areas since you only get a little under 2 oz in the full size jar (which retails for $69). You can move the mask around before it sets on your skin, but do so gently because the exfoliates are a bit coarse. Once it sits for a bit it starts to tingle and burn, kind of like menthol. After washing, my skin felt clean and refreshed! As far as clearing up my skin, I do use other products so it is hard to say if this is a holy grail product for me. I think it does an ok job of clarifying for me personally. There are other, better, cheaper alternatives out there that I have used.

What do you guys think of GlamGlow?

Hey ladies! ❤ The colder months are always a bit more trying on the skin, but that just means getting to try and use some great new skincare! These are tried and true products for me, things that I reach for all the time. Caudalie overall is an amazing skincare brand, I absolutely love the beauty elixer and divine oil for my skin. The Jurlique Love Balm smells like roses and keeps my lip hydrated and smooth. I’m in love with face oils, and this one I found from Good4U Herbals on Etsy is amazing, it’s made from roses, and keeps my skin clear, hydrated, and soft without being too oily. The L’Oreal balm is an amazing moisturizer. it’s a bit thicker, but I feel like my skin just drinks this up. L’Occitane is another great skincare brand, and this little eye cream has been a great skin saver for under the eyes. The goods: Jurlique Love Balm, Caudalie Beauty Elixer, Caudalie Divine Oil, Loreal Age Perfect Hyrda Nutrician Golden Balm, Good4U Rose Serum, and the L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Eye Balm.

This is an all vegan beauty subscription service, I’m a big supporter of natural and vegan products, so I was happy to try it out! I got 2 full size products, and 2 sample size products, which I think is a great value. The Aromi Lippie was very watery, but extremely pigmented, like a stain. I’ve heard of the brand Deep Steep so I was happy about getting that! Overall, I really like the box, super cute packaging, tune in for future boxes!

Best Clarins Self Tanning Duo!

141213I have been absolutely obsessed with self tanning lately, only because it’s right between spring and summer where I live. Also, I’ve been more conscious about being exposed to the sun. I’ve tried a lot of lotions from the drugstore, but these two products really take the cake! I’m talking about the Clarins Delicious Self-Tanning Cream and the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster. These two products look very natural. I re-apply about twice a week to maintain my tan, and there is no smell and sticky or oily feeling. The Radiance Glow Booster can be mixed into any moisturizer or serum to apply to the face. I totally love these products!<3

Battle of the Beauty Boxes

bboxes

Hi everyone! Recently I’ve been really into my beauty subscriptions, especially my Glossybox $21/month. I have been enjoying my Blush Mystery Bag $24.95 and decided to give Birchbox $10/month another go. I love getting new deluxe sizes of things, because it allows me to try new products, and also have a selection of great products to travel with. I’ve been a steady fan of Glossybox, (no complaints) and have been on and off with Blush Mystery bag since it has so much skin/body care items, though mostly full size. I haven’t had a Birchbox for a long while, since I thought the samples were so small and random, but I’m willing to give it another chance! Will report back!

Clarins Opalescence Collection Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose

A new spring discovery! The Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose $37. This is meant to be used underneath foundation to give your skin a luminous glow, which it certainly does. I find this very moisturizing and non-silicone like which I prefer. The color has a very pretty pink opalescent sheen, and leaves my skin dewy and prepped and ready to apply liquid foundation. This does have a most subtle hint of pink, but underneath foundation it’s not noticeable at all. Love how fresh and dewy my skin looks when using this product! Highly recommend this product!
