Hey everyone! Wanted to share my awesome little haul from Morphe, I’ve been eyeing their eyeshadows for a while now and decided to make myself a little palette! They are great quality and only $2 a shadow, the MAC palette I bought seperately, highly recommend!
Hey loves! X Sorry for the long wait! I just had a recent move across country and I’m just now starting to get settled. With the move, I was forced to go through my makeup collection and really narrow things down. I’ve decided to do a best of high end and drugstore foundation post! I have a love/hate relationship with foundation, I love it because it gives my skin a flawless look, but putting it on every day is really a chore for me at the moment. I had to opportunity to try out lots of different brands, but I found there are gems that are both high end and can be found in the drugstore. I personally prefer a dewy formula that can be built up but can also be sheered out on more natural days. Top High End Foundation: Dior Airflash Foundation, Chanel Lift Lumiere Firming/Smoothing Foundation, Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, YSL Touche Eclat Foundation, and Shiseido Sheer & Perfect Foundation. Top Drugstore Foundations: Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation, Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation.
Hey ladies! <3 I just recently got my February Birchbox in the mail and I have to say I’m pretty happy with it! I got a really good medley of products and a nice mix of brands that I would be interested in. Birchbox consistently hosts great brands, and I’m always curious to learn about new ones. I’m very intrigued with this Minu brand, and of course I’m already a huge fan of Caudalie, Eyeko and Juicy Couture. The eyeliner is awesome! It super long wearing, very opaque and super black. The tip is a little short/stubbier than I prefer, but either way, really happy that it was included! What did you guys get? :D
Hey gals! I wanted to do a quick post about ColourPop eyeshadows! <3 I did a small haul of 7 of their eyeshadows, they are only $5 each and are said to be very creamy and pigmented. The box it came in was super cute, and was nicely packaged. Each eyeshadow comes in a small white plastic case and screw on lid. The eyeshadows themselves have a really unexpected texture, almost jelly/spongy, but definitely creamy and light. They are nicely pigmented, all of mine were shimmery/glittery/duochrome which I do like. They do offer a range of mattes which i am interested in as well. Swatches coming soon!
Hey ladies! <3 I just wanted to updated everyone on my current beauty face routine and the products I use! The winter months have left my skin paler than I prefer, so Ive been really enjoying using anything warm and bronze. Also, a lightweight hydrating powder really allows my skin to breath while giving me light/med coverage. Overall pretty neutral, but hints of warmth and color. The goods: Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder N20, Loreal Infalliable The Super Slim Black Eyeliner, Art Deco High Definition Powder/Bronzer, MAC Blush in Trace Gold, Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum, Anastazia Brow Wiz in Ebony, The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes #7, Bourjois 24 Colour Edition in Petale de Glace, Nars Eyeliner Pencil, Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien, and Albeit Nourishing Lip Balm.
Hey everyone! I got my January Birchbox in the mail today, I have to be honest, I really didn’t like it. :P Luckily, they gave me an extra 100 Birchbox points for sending a duplicate sample in my last box. I already had 100 saved up so basically I got $20 free that I used in their shop. I don’t like that I get mostly body lotion, primers, tiny perfume samples, and hair sprays in my boxes. I feel like those aren’t really products that I am interested in or bough really invest a lot of money in. Especially because there is more competition nowadays in the beauty box world, I am able to get really great full size products in my other boxes. Birchbox did implement a new feature where you can choose one of your samples you get ahead of time, but the good ones always get snatched up fast. Hopefully next month will be better!
Hey everyone! Just wanted to quickly share the Kat Von D Star Studded Eyeshadow Palette I received for Christmas! I’m a huge fan of Kat Von D Eyeshadows, and purchased to large palette she came out with last year during the holidays. This one a very pretty, love the studded design, and has 24 different eyeshadows inside. I really like the names they chose as well, all the shadows performed really well except for one (the darker shimmery green), but it was still workable. Love the mix of bright and neutral tones, you can really create some fun looks with this! X You can now find this on Ebay, what were your fav beauty gifts this year?
Hey everyone! <3 So continuing with the skincare streak that I have been on through winter, keeping my skin hydrated has been must, since the winters instantly dry out my skin. (Which makes on putting any makeup a drag.) I was recently able to try this wonderful duo by Insta Natural, the Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Youth Express Eye Gel. You can also find it onAmazon. I’ve used hyaluronic acid in the past and ave had really great results with it. It’s a clear, odorless liquid/gel that quickly absorbs into any skin type and hydrates without leaving any residue. It has no scent, is very clean, and can be mixed into other products for a little boost. It always helped my skin feel softer and more plump. I like these two because they are both a good size, under $20, paraben and cruelty free, and are enriched with Vitamin C, Green Tea and Aloe.
After much hulabaloo, and trying a few samples, I bought a full size Glam Glow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I know, I know, it’s expensive, but I was able to find it on discount at TJMaxx which made the blow a bit better. My skin for some reason was starting to have small breakouts around my nose and t-zone, I’m sure from my lax beauty habits in the recent cold winter months. The mask itself is a pale green tingling mud with botanicals, and exfoliators. The main ingredients are: French Green Clay, Volcanic Pumice Rock, Chamomile, Marigold, Cucumber, Herbs and Green Tea Leaves. The smell is really nice, very clean and spa like, the texture is very thick and chunky due to the tea leaves. I use only a small amount in my nose and trouble areas since you only get a little under 2 oz in the full size jar (which retails for $69). You can move the mask around before it sets on your skin, but do so gently because the exfoliates are a bit coarse. Once it sits for a bit it starts to tingle and burn, kind of like menthol. After washing, my skin felt clean and refreshed! As far as clearing up my skin, I do use other products so it is hard to say if this is a holy grail product for me. I think it does an ok job of clarifying for me personally. There are other, better, cheaper alternatives out there that I have used.
Hey girls! I hope everyone had a great holiday, I wanted to quickly share my new perfume staple that I received for my birthday, it’s the Stella by Stella McCartney. I absolutely love the bottle, I received the 1 oz size $50 at Sephora, which is a great size for my purse. The notes are: Rose, Peony Flower, Mandarin, Rose Absolute, and Amber. It’s definitely a feminine floral, but very rich, warm, and mysterious as well. I seriously love this scent. The concept of the Stella McCartney bath line is driven by a passion for ecological and organic cosmetology: selecting the best natural raw materials and capitalizing on vegetal extracts, organic agriculture, and extraction methods that respect and protect the natural life force of the plants. Love the concept behind this brand, learned something new after reading that description on the Sephora website. I highly recommend this fragrance for anyone looking for a new everyday floral staple.
Hey gals! <3 So I’m sure you’ve seen the dark lipstick trend going around during the fall/winter seasons, and it can definitely be a little daunting when you’re a nude lipstick girl like me. I’m absolutely loving the dark lip look especially for this time of year. Here are some quick tips to achieve a flawless dark lip look:
1. Invest in a lip pencil. A lip pencil will allow you to get that precise line, as well as a primed base for your lipstick.Your look will last longer!
2. Get color matched. Not all shades are the same, and different colors look better on different skin tones! Different finishes achieve different looks as well.
3. Set your lips. Take a small fluffy brush and pat some translucent setting powder around your lips to prevent bleeding and feathering!
4. Lastly, carry around your lip shade with you in your purse for touch ups on the go! In case you are out drinking, eating or kissing! ;)
