Starlooks Starbox November 2012 Review! **Pic Heavy!

Hello!!!! Very exciting post today,  I just got my first Starlooks Starbox in the mail today! It is a monthly makeup subscription service for $15/month. This is the November box, and the theme was ‘Nasty Gal’. You can see their lookbook here! I was super excited about this box because apparently it was their first customized box. They asked us if we were light/medium/dark, and to had to e-mail them back! The box was pretty nice, nothing out of the ordinary. It had a leopard print front!

Inside was the promo card, with a pretty shot of all the ladies from the November lookbook. Really love the look and how it all came together! I heard that this brand was created with the help of a MAC Makeup chemist, so all the makeup in the Starlooks brand were inspired from that!! (Which is awesome!)

Here is another promo card for the December box, which I know is going to be their 15 piece eyeshadow palette normally $99!! Amazing!! Sign up quick if you want a chance to get it!! 😀

SADLY when I opened the tissue paper, I found that the eyeshadow quad came broken!!!! 😦 I was so disappointed, but I e-mailed them with a photo right away and they said that they would send out replacement pans! The other items were fine, and I actually received an extra item with a promo code I found on a blog!

The first item was this Tender Gloss Lipstick in Cream Caramel, retails for $11 on their website. The packaging is plain black, with simple writing. The box is pretty sturdy but did get a little dirty from the broken eyeshadow. 😦

The lipstick was INCREDIBLE. It is just as it says, a gloss lipstick. It has a sheer, moisturizing finish, with a hint of gloss! It’s a very pretty nude color and the actual lipstick case was metal! It felt really nice in the hand, and also applied. It almost melted onto my lips and gave them an amazing subtle hint of color with a glossy finish! LOVE it!

Next is the Starlooks eyeshadow quad. SO sad that it came broken, but the packaging is nice, and it has the white Starlooks logo on the front. The palette itself is not magnetic so be careful when handling it! Each eyeshadow retails for $9 on their website.

L to R: Please Me, Ominous, Rusting (broken), and Almond. Here is the quad. Again, such a sad sight when looking at broken makeup! The colors are gorgeous. They are creamy neutral shades with a mix of matte, metallic, and shimmer. They all have an amazing velvety texture and are very comparable to MAC shadows. The pans all have their names on the back, so it would be easy to get them again!

Swatches: Starlooks Eyeshadow in Please Me (shimmery beige), Rusting (metallic gold/brown), Almond (matte dark brown), and Ominous (shimmery peach/gold)

The extra item I received in the box was this 813 Small Precision brush. The brush is actually very good quality, it retails for $15 on their website, and I was happy to have it!

I absolutely love this brush, it is defined, soft, and easy to work with. I’m going to get a lot of use out of this little guy! 🙂

Next was this Eyelash tool, this isn’t on their website, but I guess it was a one time item for this month. I believe it’s supposed to be used as a eyelash guard when applying mascara. The pointy side it to use to brush out your lashes after applying mascara. Nifty little tool, will try it and see how it goes.

Lastly, there were these two little clear crystals in the box. It is meant to  attracts energy and help maintain focus. Cute little touch, goes well with their brand! Overall, I’m really liking this service, aside from the broken eyeshadow, everything is really great quality, ALL MAKEUP, and a great value for $15. Highly recommend!!

SPOILER!!*** This is what we will be receiving in the December box! The 15 eyeshadow palette! 😀 Yay!

What do you guys think!?
