Makeup Haul! : Physicians Formula PH Blush & Victoria’s Secret Limited Edition Deluxe Eye Palette

Sorry I was a little bit MIA! Yesterday was my mom’s birthday, so I wanted to focus my whole day on her! 🙂 The other day, I was at Victoria’s Secret and stopped by their beauty section, as I like browsing the new collections they come out with every season. I tried to resist, but has to get the new limited edition Deluxe Eye Palette in Unstoppable since it was 30% off!! Also, I had bought the Physician’s Formula PH Matchmaker Blush a little while ago, but waited to review. I picked this up at CVS for 40% off in the weeks before. Well, here they are!

Both “palettes” are very nice in packaging, and are a little large in size. They are both fun, sexy, sleek, and bulky. The Physicians Formula PH Matchmaker series had launched this sometime earlier this year, and it supposed to react to light and your PH levels to adjust and create your perfect color within 60 seconds. This palette also includes some LED lights in the compact itself so you can use it at night. The Victoria’s Secret Deluxe Eye Palette in Unstoppable immediately stood out. It’s fairly large for an eye palette, and I loved the gorgeous shimmery purple shades.

When I first opened the palettes, I thought, how GORGEOUS! I love the colors, and was shocked on how much product is in the Victoria’s Secret palette. The Physicians Formula blush was a little brighter than expected, but beautiful none the less. There are also little pearls surrounding the blush to give you a but more shimmer if you wanted!

The Victoria’s Secret palette is amazing. The adore the colors, and look how huge it is. lol Most of the colors are shimmery, as most Victoria’s Secret eyeshadows are, the largest pan (the lightest purple) is such an amazing color. I really bought if just for that shade! The design of it reminds me of the Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow Palettes, but again, this is very large in size. The lightest shades are very good in texture and pigmentation, and the middle shades are also pretty good. The bright purple strip in the middle probably has the least pigmentation. The darkest shade feels a bit more like a liner, but is still a wet-powdery consistency. The darkest shades also have the best staying power, and overall, this palette looks great on my warm skin tone!

The Physicians Formula PH Blush was a nice find, they have been coming out with some nice products recently and was intrigued by the whole PH thing. I’m not sure if it actually works, but the color by itself is GORGEOUS. The packaging says it’s in the color “natural”, but it’s actually more of a bright peachy pink color. There close to no shimmer except for the little pearl border, and the formula is very finely milled. There is also a nice little brush that comes with the compact which I actually like! I’m not sure if it’s natural or synthetic, but it feels really soft. The little pearls around the border give a slight shimmer effect, but they wear off really easily on the powder. I think I swiped it a couple times and some of them are already gone! lol Overall, this blush gives an amazing pink flush to my cheeks, a very good purchase!

After I turn the LED lights on! It’s very pretty and could be useful at night if you need some light. The lights are actually VERY bright, almost blinding. lol There is a little switch by the mirror on the right side that you can use to turn it on or off. Neat idea!

Everyday Dewy Makeup Look!

Hi Everyone! I wanted to show you my everyday makeup look, it’s fresh, clean, dewy, and naturally sophisticated. It’s pretty quick and easy to do, feel free to substitute certain products if you don’t have them in your arsenal! 🙂

Eyes: I first did a light wash with The Balm eyeshadow in a pretty light shimmery champagne color all the way up to the brow bone, concentrating it near my lash line. Then I look my brown felt tip marker by Hard Candy and made a neat line, a bit thicker towards the end, finishing with a tiny wing on my eye. I kept my lower lash line pretty clean to preserve that fresh, clean look! I filled in my brows with my Espresso pencil from Milani then primed my lashes for a good coat of my Estee Lauder Double Wear Mascara.

Face: After exfoliating my face with my deep exfoliating cleanser, I applied my Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 23 with my flat top foundation brush all over my face.  I let the BB Cream dry for a minute or two then dusted my Lorac Powder over the BB Cream to set it. I then used my Pearl Glow Powder by Physicians Formula over my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, forehead, and chin to give me that pearly glow! I then finish with my contouring powder from Milani to give me a natural face shape. For the lips I just used my Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle to give me that nice nude lip.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 23

Lorac Oil Free Wet/Dry Powder WD in 2.5

Pretty Pink Drugstore Haul!

Another small drugstore haul! I was at CVS the other day and say they were having a sale on 30% off Wet N’ Wild, 40% off Physicians Formula, and 75% off Milani. I browsed through the isles and was drawn to some pretty pink products!

Pretty!! This is the Physicians Formula Translucent Pearl Powder Palette with real mineral pearl extracts. I says it is appropriate for all skin tones, and creates a skin-perfecting luminous glow! I thought it looked so pretty in the pan, I’m already a fan of their Happy Booster Blush, so I thought I’d give this a try! It’s a pale pink shimmery pressed powder, with raised bobbles, with light swirls of pale pinks, tans, and white. It applies very shimmery on the cheeks for a light pearly glow. Looks gorgeous over powder! The texture is fine and blends easily on the cheeks with a brush. As well as using it as a highlight, it look gorgeous on your eyelids as a shadow. Be careful you don’t use too much or it give you a extra shiny look. Very versatile product!

I have mixed feelings about this. I’ve been wanting to try these Maybelline Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow Quints, especially since I surprisingly really liked their quads. I shy’d away from it a few times because it is $10, which is a pretty high price point for a drugstore product! So I caved in and decided to give it a go. This is the Quint in Pink Punch. It has varying shades of pink and magenta, with a really glittery highlight color. I was hoping this would be similar to some of the Japanese eyeshadows! Sadly I was wrong. -_-; The glittery shadow is utterly useless, it crumbles and applies horribly. The other shades are ok, I like the two shades in the left corner. The two darker shades aren’t very pigmented, and can make your eye look irritated and unnatural if applied heavily. I think the colors might works better if mixed with some champagnes, golds, and browns. Applied lightly and blended out with a brush by itself, it can look pretty, but for $10, save your money to buy something better quality.

Love this gloss! 😀 I heard a lot about these glosses (similar to Mac Dazzleglasses) and saw that it was 75% off so decided to get this gorgeous glittery red color! The packaging is kind of interesting, and it says it’s a 3D gloss which I am excited about! The gloss itself it not sticky and glides on easily on the lips. It makes your lips looks dewy, shiny, and iridescent. The color is gorgeous as it can be applied sheet for a light tint, or applied heavy for a more glamorous look. It would look especially pretty over a deep pink or red lipstick! You can kind of feel the tiny glitters on your lips after a while, but I’m willing to put up with it since it’s not too gritty, and it does look so great on!

The gloss has ALOT of really fine glitters in with, which is probably what makes it a 3D gloss. It has a really pretty iridescent cranberry red color with pink and white glitters, the wand it a little stiff, but I guess that makes it a little easier to line the lips with! The Wet N’ Wild Mega Eyes Defining Marker was a fun find, I love using these felt tip eyeliners, as they seem to be easier to apply than liquid eyeliners. The tip is fine, and bend a bit to give you a nice line. The black is pretty opaque and dries quickly on the skin. It’s pretty long wearing once it dries, but be careful not to tear or get it wet somehow but it will run!!! I’m sure there are better eyeliner pens out there, but this one will be used as a back up to my other more high end ones in my collection.

Random/cute buy I got from the local Japanese Grocery store, it’s a really cute “grape” eraser that actually smells like grape!! Japanese erasers are the BEST and I love using them when I can. Of course the designs are usually very cute as well, it’s a win win for me. lol

What do you think?! 😀
