Best Clarins Self Tanning Duo!

141213I have been absolutely obsessed with self tanning lately, only because it’s right between spring and summer where I live. Also, I’ve been more conscious about being exposed to the sun. I’ve tried a lot of lotions from the drugstore, but these two products really take the cake! I’m talking about the Clarins Delicious Self-Tanning Cream and the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster. These two products look very natural. I re-apply about twice a week to maintain my tan, and there is no smell and sticky or oily feeling. The Radiance Glow Booster can be mixed into any moisturizer or serum to apply to the face. I totally love these products!<3

Becca Pressed Shimmer Powders: Princess, Nefertiti, & Angel

20140407_204201 copy20140407_204224 copy20140407_204254 copybecca shimmer powderI seriously LOVE these powders. ❤ They are one of my all time favorite highlighters. The Becca Pressed Shimmer Powders $38 are velvety soft, finely milled highlighters that give the most amazing sheen to the cheeks. I have Princess (warm golden pink), Nefertiti (rose opal), and Angel (champagne). They are currently 50% off the website, so I think they are being discontinued, but I managed to find mine of Ebay for a great price. Becca as a brand I am a huge fan of, and I love all their products. The packaging is really stunning, metal embossed tops and brown rubberized casing. These powders really give off a natural glow without being too overpowering and feel very lightweight.

Clarins Opalescence Collection Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose

A new spring discovery! The Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose $37. This is meant to be used underneath foundation to give your skin a luminous glow, which it certainly does. I find this very moisturizing and non-silicone like which I prefer. The color has a very pretty pink opalescent sheen, and leaves my skin dewy and prepped and ready to apply liquid foundation. This does have a most subtle hint of pink, but underneath foundation it’s not noticeable at all. Love how fresh and dewy my skin looks when using this product! Highly recommend this product!

Skin79 Oriental Shimmering BB Cream Review!

Hi Everyone! This is my review for the SKin79 Oriental Shimmering BB Cream. I really wanted to try this because of the pen like shape, and because I love the original Oriental Gold BB Cream by Skin79. It’s supposed to give you a shimmering pearl-like glow and continuous moisture on your skin. It contains silk amino acids, vitamins, and various tea ingredients to help keep your skin healthy.

I really love the concept of this! It’s a giant pen-like tube, with the lavender and gold packaging, and I can immediately envision using this as an all over highlight, enhancer of the under eyes, and on top of my cheek bones/nose! There’s a button on the bottom where you can push to get the product out. The cap stays on pretty well as long as you don’t put too much force on it. It’s slim, pretty, and could be great for travel!

The brush tip inside is pretty good, it’s a soft synthetic brush I’d say just under an inch wide. It’s slightly rounded at the end so it can easily fit into the natural contours of the face. The good thing about this is that you don’t necessarily need to pump the product on your hand before applying it to your face, you can directly sweep the BB Cream onto the desired areas!

If you push the bottom once, I think enough of the product comes out to sufficiently use on your face. It goes out in three little beads and immediately you can see the pearly shimmery qualities of the BB Cream! The smell is very similar to the original Skin79 Oriental Gold BB Cream, and smells like sweet flowers/tea/light cosmetic scent.

When putting it on my hand, the BB Cream has a light milky/pearly sheen, and the texture is very light yet moisturizing at the same time.  You can just use the brush to blend into the skin, or continue to use your fingers to evenly spread the BB Cream on your face. The formula absorbs into the skin very quickly, and leaves an amazing dewy slightly shimmery/pearl finish. It’s nothing overwhelming, but gives an amazing highlighting effect. It also leaves my skin soft, even, everything a normal BB Cream does!

This is when it’s all blended in!

I starting with a clean face, nothing but a little but of eyeliner and brows. I like to use this under my eyes, bridge of my nose, forehead, tops of my cheekbones, and chin!

Finished! What do you think?! 🙂

Everyday Dewy Makeup Look!

Hi Everyone! I wanted to show you my everyday makeup look, it’s fresh, clean, dewy, and naturally sophisticated. It’s pretty quick and easy to do, feel free to substitute certain products if you don’t have them in your arsenal! 🙂

Eyes: I first did a light wash with The Balm eyeshadow in a pretty light shimmery champagne color all the way up to the brow bone, concentrating it near my lash line. Then I look my brown felt tip marker by Hard Candy and made a neat line, a bit thicker towards the end, finishing with a tiny wing on my eye. I kept my lower lash line pretty clean to preserve that fresh, clean look! I filled in my brows with my Espresso pencil from Milani then primed my lashes for a good coat of my Estee Lauder Double Wear Mascara.

Face: After exfoliating my face with my deep exfoliating cleanser, I applied my Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 23 with my flat top foundation brush all over my face.  I let the BB Cream dry for a minute or two then dusted my Lorac Powder over the BB Cream to set it. I then used my Pearl Glow Powder by Physicians Formula over my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, forehead, and chin to give me that pearly glow! I then finish with my contouring powder from Milani to give me a natural face shape. For the lips I just used my Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle to give me that nice nude lip.

Pretty Pink Drugstore Haul!

Another small drugstore haul! I was at CVS the other day and say they were having a sale on 30% off Wet N’ Wild, 40% off Physicians Formula, and 75% off Milani. I browsed through the isles and was drawn to some pretty pink products!

Pretty!! This is the Physicians Formula Translucent Pearl Powder Palette with real mineral pearl extracts. I says it is appropriate for all skin tones, and creates a skin-perfecting luminous glow! I thought it looked so pretty in the pan, I’m already a fan of their Happy Booster Blush, so I thought I’d give this a try! It’s a pale pink shimmery pressed powder, with raised bobbles, with light swirls of pale pinks, tans, and white. It applies very shimmery on the cheeks for a light pearly glow. Looks gorgeous over powder! The texture is fine and blends easily on the cheeks with a brush. As well as using it as a highlight, it look gorgeous on your eyelids as a shadow. Be careful you don’t use too much or it give you a extra shiny look. Very versatile product!

I have mixed feelings about this. I’ve been wanting to try these Maybelline Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow Quints, especially since I surprisingly really liked their quads. I shy’d away from it a few times because it is $10, which is a pretty high price point for a drugstore product! So I caved in and decided to give it a go. This is the Quint in Pink Punch. It has varying shades of pink and magenta, with a really glittery highlight color. I was hoping this would be similar to some of the Japanese eyeshadows! Sadly I was wrong. -_-; The glittery shadow is utterly useless, it crumbles and applies horribly. The other shades are ok, I like the two shades in the left corner. The two darker shades aren’t very pigmented, and can make your eye look irritated and unnatural if applied heavily. I think the colors might works better if mixed with some champagnes, golds, and browns. Applied lightly and blended out with a brush by itself, it can look pretty, but for $10, save your money to buy something better quality.

Love this gloss! 😀 I heard a lot about these glosses (similar to Mac Dazzleglasses) and saw that it was 75% off so decided to get this gorgeous glittery red color! The packaging is kind of interesting, and it says it’s a 3D gloss which I am excited about! The gloss itself it not sticky and glides on easily on the lips. It makes your lips looks dewy, shiny, and iridescent. The color is gorgeous as it can be applied sheet for a light tint, or applied heavy for a more glamorous look. It would look especially pretty over a deep pink or red lipstick! You can kind of feel the tiny glitters on your lips after a while, but I’m willing to put up with it since it’s not too gritty, and it does look so great on!

The gloss has ALOT of really fine glitters in with, which is probably what makes it a 3D gloss. It has a really pretty iridescent cranberry red color with pink and white glitters, the wand it a little stiff, but I guess that makes it a little easier to line the lips with! The Wet N’ Wild Mega Eyes Defining Marker was a fun find, I love using these felt tip eyeliners, as they seem to be easier to apply than liquid eyeliners. The tip is fine, and bend a bit to give you a nice line. The black is pretty opaque and dries quickly on the skin. It’s pretty long wearing once it dries, but be careful not to tear or get it wet somehow but it will run!!! I’m sure there are better eyeliner pens out there, but this one will be used as a back up to my other more high end ones in my collection.

Swatch: Maybelline Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Pink Punch

Swatches L to R: Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Powder, Wet N’ Wild Mega Eyes Defining Marker, Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in In Vogue.

Random/cute buy I got from the local Japanese Grocery store, it’s a really cute “grape” eraser that actually smells like grape!! Japanese erasers are the BEST and I love using them when I can. Of course the designs are usually very cute as well, it’s a win win for me. lol

What do you think?! 😀

Milani Baked Blushes & Bronzer!

I love Milani Baked blushes and bronzers. I’ve only had to opportunity to try a few, but I really want to collect a couple more! The packaging is a little bulky, but its because they have a compartment underneath the powder itself for a mirror and mini face brush. I rarely ever use them, but I guess it’s nice to have. The colors and pigmentation on these are gorgeous. You can do a light sweep across the cheek for a hint of color and sheen, or get more dramatic pop of color.

(L to R: Glow, Berry Amore, Luminoso, Rose D’oro) I love the look of these powders, because each one is a little different. The veining in the powder gives subtle depth of color and added highlights. They are very buildable in color, and can also be applied wet. I believe they can be used for any skin tone!

Spring Makeup Look 2012 Picks!

Boots No. 7 Highlights – This is a wonderful highlighting lotion. It’s light, not greasy, and comes in a convenient pump bottle. It gives your skin a light pink translucent glow. I think this is a better alternative to the Benefit High Beam as you get a great amount of product, with the same look. I use this on the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of the nose, on my cupid’s bow, above the eyebrows, forehead, and chin before I dust on powder. It makes my face look fresh, dewy, and glowing.

The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder – For spring and summer, I try to skip heavy liquid foundation. Instead I like using light powders. This is a wonderful matte translucent  powder to us all over your face, as for touch up throughout the day. The powder itself it finely milled, soft, and blends easily on my skin. This gives my face a flawless look without looking unnatural. It has a very light coverage so it let’s your natural color through. I think this is great for a fresh spring look!

Elf Cream Blush in Flirt – I LOVE the Elf Cream Blushes and I have every one. The pigmentation is great, feels very soft and airy, and ends with a powdery finish. I use my fingers of a flat stippling brush to sweep it across my cheeks. It gives a very natural yet pretty pink glow. The color itself it a bright flamingo pink, but blends into the skin as a bright baby pink. Lovely to have in your collection!

Loreal Colour Riche LeGloss in Baby Blossom -I’ve come to really like these glosses, especially the ones I tried. This color is a pale baby pink, and comes out of the tube pretty opaque, but blends to give a great tint of color. The gloss is not too sticky and has pretty good lasting power. I like to use this over a pink lipstick or by itself for a natural pretty pink lip. Love the packaging!

Estee Lauder Pure Color in Glacial Blue -Last year I was on the search for a great baby blue eyeshadow. I feel like a lot of people shy away from blues and green in terms of makeup, but I think these colors can look so pretty and natural with the right application. This metallic shadow is a powdery sky blue color, and gives the eyes a refreshing, bright, yet cool look. The powder can initially feel a little gritty because of the shimmer, but applies on the skin smoothly. I love wearing this eyeshadow by itself all over the lid with a brown liner, and defined lash.

Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Fashion Forward – This is a very pretty metallic iridescent light green eyeshadow. When it catches the light, it has a prismatic quality which makes it very interesting! One of my favorite Lancome shadows for fresh spring looks. I like using this in the inner corners of my eyes and under my lower lash line!

Wet N’ Wild Color Icon Palette in Petal Pusher -This is a great and affordable purple eye palette. This comes with eight different shimmery purple shades with instructions for different looks pressed into the shadows. The pigmentation is great, except for the lightest purple color in the left corner. I really like the Color Icon Series from Wet N’ Wild, as they are all highly pigmented and affordable.

Revlon Creme Lipstick in Primrose – This is a love/hate lipstick for me to be honest. It’s a creamy pink with blueish undertones, so it can look a little garrish on warm skin tones if applied thickly. However, this still is a beautiful shade and I’ve figured out how to make it wearable for me. I mix it with a warm pink/berry shade (like NYX Lipstick in Fig) on the center of the lips to give it more dimension and warmth. I then topped it off with the Baby Blossom Gloss which gave it a whole new color profile. In the end, the color looks, springy, plump, yet wearable.

Mac Eyeshadow in This & That – This is a staple in my eye makeup collection because I can use it on every look I create. The highlight color in particular is very good for the arch of the eye. It is highly pigmented, creamy, and long wearing. The shimmery champagne shade can be used for blending or by itself for a minimal look. Check out my Eye Basics post!

TokiDoki Eyeshadow in Carnivora -This is a great neutral shimmery champagne shade with light peachy undertones. I love the packaging for TokiDoki and the quality of the shadow itself is soft, creamy, and blendable. It gives a great sheen to your eye and is great to be used as a highlight.

Ulta Eye Crayon in White Wedding -This product was a HG eye product for me, because it still is the only thing that makes my loose eye pigments stick and last on my eye. This is a shimmery white shade and can be used under shimmery eyeshadow as well. This looks great under the light pink color in the Petal Pusher palette.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume – This was a continuation of the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume line that came out recently. It still has the cute vinyl flower detail on the packaging, and the concave bottle shape with light pink liquid. This notes are Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Musks, Cedarwood, Plum. It is supposed to make you feel Exhilarating. Bubbly. Playful, which it does! Great daytime perfume for spring.

Loreal Colour Riche Balms

These are the Loreal Colour Riche Balms which I LOVE!! I know they are heavily compared to the Revlon Lip Butters, but somehow I like this better. I have three colors (L to R: Rose Elixer, Tender Mauve, and Pink Satin) They have an SPF of 15 and come in six different sheer shades. The Balms feel very moisturizing, and have a slight SPF taste, but give your lips a moist, dewy and lightly tinted look. I would best describe them as a tinted gloss balm. Love these, going to get the Caring Coral shade soon!
