Hello everyone! I’m here to review a special little Etsy shop called LiteraryLacquer! 🙂 As you guys know, I’m huge on supporting people on Etsy and indie crafters and beauty trends, and this is no exception. Literary Lacquers are individually made by hand with love and good intentions. They are also 3 Free! How cute are the labels?!
I was so happy to get these little beauties in the mail, they were well packaged, and came to my mailbox safely. These nail polishes are gorgeous, I couldn’t stop staring at them! They reminded of something dark, sultry, and completely alluring. The bottles are sturdy square, glass bottles and the brush was quite good. I like that they have the longer tops, it makes it easier to handle and apply polish!
The colors are gorgeous. They are both from her Dracula Collection, inspired by the book Dracula by Bram Stoker. Lucy (left) is a mix of fine copper glitters, red and iridescent black hexes, in a semi black jelly base. Mina (right) is a delightful combo of electric medium and small purple hexes, iridescent black hexes, in a semi black jelly base. They compliment each other well, like sisters!
She describes them on her Etsy pages: “Lucy nail lacquer is a blackened ruby, packed with blood red shimmer and glitters. I hope you are not a vampire, because you’re going to want to see this one in the sun! Mina is true, sweet and noble, the absolute model of Victorian domestic propriety. Mina nail lacquer is a blackened violet packed with violet shimmer and glitter, it truly comes alive in the sun with a stunning deep purple flash.”
The backs also have a clear label with all the ingredients and also the amount of product which is nice! These apply very nicely, it goes on evenly on the nail and doesn’t feel goopy. The base of it is semi translucent, so you will need about 3 coats to get a nice opaque finish. The layering effect is amazing, and looks SO pretty. Drying time takes a little longer than usual but nothing a good quick dry top coat can’t fix. I think these would make a great gift for the holidays!
Swatch: Mina and Lucy
Will post photos of them on my nails soon! Planning to wear Lucy for Thanksgiving dinner.
What do you guys think!? 🙂
